She was beaten by the Khmer Rouge as a child in the labor camps. She lost her father in the genocide and
remembers how it feels to be starving. Meng, 37, owns the Mitpheap Market in Portland, Maine, where she
sometimes hands out food to those less fortunate. She doesn't like to see others go hungry. Meng works seven
days a week keeping up with customer demands. From Cambodia, to America, she has become a successful
